The AudioArt Blogs

The new season has begun and I have updated the Concert and Convention pages to reflect the recent work. At this point we are only about three weeks from the Daytona Rally, so I am making plans for that event. I have my regular business at the BrokenSpoke with three shows this year. I am also working on another venue and a rental for the event. If it all comes through it will be a great start to the year. After the rally there is a Wailer’s show and some other things on the books to keep me out of mischief until the next rallies. There are many opportunities opening for this season so it should be a good year.

This is just a little shout to let everybody that is listening know that I have added a link to the Live Sound Wiki and Forum portal page on the home page of the site. I have established the Wiki and Forum with the hope that they will become a community resource. I hope that all interested in Live Sound will sign up for the forum. The Wiki also needs contributors and suggestions for more articles. Please stop by and check these out and lets form an active community that will advance the art of Live Sound Reinforcement.

I also have a site, Mixing Live Sound, on which I am attempting to pass on some of my knowledge and experience in the field. Stop by there and check it out.

This is a bit delinquent, but I finally got around to adding an events page. I did short write-ups of two Tots for Tots benefit shows that I did the last two weekends. These should have been written up one and two weeks ago as separate entries, but that did not happen, I am sorry to say. You can view the write-up by clicking the Events Blog page in the right column.

Last weekend was the first convention since I started using this software so I added a ‘Convention News’ page and wrote up the convention.

The other evening we did an Eddie Money show. I have started a Concert Page to cronicle the concerts that we do.  You can read the post by clicking on the concert page in the page list in the right column.

I have been writing posts off and on on several subjects for the past couple of years. Recently I discovered WordPress blogging software. It is available to me courtesy of my web host. WordPress is readily available to all web publishers and does offer to host a WordPress blog for you on their website, but they have also partnered with SimpleScripts to allow web site owners a very quick and easy installation.

I have decided to combine the blog type posts that I have been making into various pages in the AudioArt Blogs section of my site. There are several advantages to using the blogging software. It is very easy to add a post to a blog with this software. That may mean that there will be more and more consistent posts in this area of my site. The software also provides automated RSS feeds, so that anyone that is interested in my adventures can be alerted to new posts. The format allows for multiple pages, so that I can dedicate a page to each of the blog type reports that I have made, and possible expand into other areas that may be of interest to some. The software also allows for comments and I hope to see some comments on some of the entries to the blog.

Over all I expect that this will be a worthwhile addition to this site!!
